Is Lil Wayne the hardest working rapper alive or what? The self proclaimed greatest rapper alive may have the facts to back his statement up now. The Carter 3 made its debut June 10, 2008 selling more than one million albums it's first week. Here I want go into a complete discography of Weezy's career, but I'll focus more on the release of the Carter Series, if we may and the success Wayne has had since the release of the Carter 1.
After the release of 3 solo albums, in 2004 the Carter was released. At age 19 Lil Wayne's career took direction on a new path. Although lacking the bling bling mentality that fans were accustomed to Wayne was still able to deliver to his fan base thus building the foundation that helped The Carter sell over 1 million copies upon its release, which included on of the biggest hits of 2004 "Go DJ".
On December 6, 2005, The Carter 2 was released, although not back by the beats of long time Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh, Wayne was still able to deliver his punctual dictations on a variety of beats from different producers. In 2005 Wayne also took over Cash Money Records as president. During this year he also founded Young Money Entertainment. By the end of 2005 it may seem that Lil Wayne may have disappeared or showed lack in creating another solo album. It is also said that in 2007 Wayne have since step down as the president of Cash Money. By
Where did Wayne go? Well, this is probably why Lil Wayne has established his self as the greatest rapper ever. Gone, but not necessarily gone, Lil Wayne changed his focused from mainstream to mostly making appearances on other artists project and making appearances on mixtapes, including his and up and coming artist from all over, a strategy that has proven successful in reaching out to fans.
