Chris Standring Soul Express Smooth Jazz Music CD Review
One word describes the CD Soul Express from Chris Standring... AWESOME!
I wish it weren"t the case but, it"s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can"t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Soul Express. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.
Soul Express has a nicely varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are his own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They"re all here.
Chris Standring possesses the characteristic of being able to bowl you over with his talent alone. The kind of artist I frankly just flat out enjoy listening to.
Listen and I think you"ll agree that the song choices are excellent, the production is outstanding and Standring is in top form. Of particular note on this offering is his amazing rendition of I Can't Help Myself.
While this entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are Kaleidoscope [track 2], Method To My Madness [track 4], and Mumbo Jumbo [track 8].
My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 7, Thru The Looking Glass. It"s a great track!
