Video Rental Store
Are you a video extremist? So you are one of the people who would join me in the queue early in the morning, in the mist and fog confusion praying for the video rental store to open? Ahh I understand you, it's like a craving for hot chocolate on a cold foggy day! We are always adamant about keeping pace with the freshest of new video release that we always make sure to have a copy of that new video release guide they give away at the video store counter, so we can highlight and circle and cross the ones we must see (next attraction), the ones we have already seen, and the ones we consider, regrettably, as belonging in the must-miss category.
Television Station
It's such a lovely thing to have many television stations and the choices they offer today. Quite handsome years ago, probably 80, we had only three television stations. Considering the lack of technological diversity and variety. The only stations available were ABC, NBC and CBS. Those days there were no plasma or HD, its amazing how there were few television stations with no remote, no buttons or dial number. Instead there was a dial that we spun like a desired safe dial, waiting for just the right click/turn to adjust us into a clear or less rainy picture to watch. Expectantly the switched on television had a big black line about a third of the width of the screen that went down the centre of the picture like a stifles marker would.
TRUST THE MAN Movie Review - David Duchovny, Julianne Moore, Eva Mendes
Claiming to be a sort of "Sex And The City" style entertainment, "Trust The Man" has a stellar cast that makes this run-of-the-mill operation watchable but at the end of the day, there's nothing special enough here that you wouldn't find in a movie of the week on TV. The film has some nice and funny moments, largely helped by the cast; David Duchovny imbues his character with a sense of cheeky naughtiness, and Julianne Moore fares well as the logical, by the numbers actress who seems to have lost her imagination in the bedroom. The film follows their lives and another couple as they go through the typical ups and downs of modern relationships, but aside from the likeability of its stars, there's nothing new here, making this an unremarkable and forgettable viewing experience.
Oliver Stone s WORLD TRADE CENTRE Movie Review
There has been much debate as to whether it was too soon to make a film about 9/11, given 'World Trade Centre' comes only five years after that tragic day in US and world history. One of director Oliver Stone's smartest moves in making this film was to not have any sort of political commentary, despite a hint here or there. Nor does he actively re-depict the actual strikes against the towers or their subsequent collapse. He instead focuses on the human story at the heart of the tragedy and it is in this respect that 'World Trade Centre' hits the mark. Unfortunately, the film overstays its welcome by about thirty minutes.
CJ7 - Who is That Alien Creature?
From popular Chinese actor/director Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) comes CJ7, a story about hope and love through the character of a boy and an alien. CJ7 is a great watch for anyone, which contains many golden and hilarious moments. CJ7 is mainly a representation of hope. Dicky, the main character in the movie, is from a poor background. However, he is enrolled in an expensive private school, where he cannot seem to fit in. Upon receiving CJ7, a lovable alien character, he instantly becomes selfish, and wants the alien to take care of all of his problems. Some acts involve cheating on tests, and getting back at classmates.
K-Pax - Analyzing the Important Questions
K-Pax is an open ended film. It is an excellent movie, which can be viewed from many different perspectives. I chose to view it from a hopeful viewpoint, because that is who I am as a person. Throughout the movie, viewers will be forced to think, and to answer various questions. The main questions that I was faced with were: What is K-Pax? Who was Prot? What did the Blue Jay represent? Why did Prot take Bess to K-Pax? The are many possible analysis's for each question, but here is my take on this beautiful film. What is K-Pax? This is the main question on peoples minds after watching the movie.
