American IDOL A Sham?

Normally I would not write or comment about reality TV shows but we have really reached our limits and I just had to voice an opinion. I have watched almost all of this seasons American IDOL show, mainly because I like the music, but I have become discouraged that the show may not be a real talent show. I understand that voters can sway the results but who actually knows the results are what they tell us they are. In the past I thought that it was real because some of the winners were down right awful and they still received the votes to win.

This year we had two great finalists and it seemed like a pretty decent Top 10 but yet we had some in the Top 10 that in my opinion never should have made it on the show and were just carried through so that they could send them home and build the ratings to the big show down. Are we expected to believe that all the shows are real and the producers and TV moguls are not having influence on who goes and who stays? Perhaps I am naive and these results are all real but I just cant buy it. I feel I have been cheated, but of course the ones I thought would win were sent home so maybe I have become biased.

I just wanted to vent and get it out there and this seemed like the best way! I only hope that the results are really based on talent and not just ratings for TV. We are lied to and cheated enough without our entertainment becoming corrupted to. Alas, the show must go on, right?
