This would lead to a value price becoming available on Trainer B's horse.
The reason such a horseracing system can be profitable (if you choose the right trainers to follow) is that a horse needs to have 3 runs to qualify for a handicap mark.
Certain trainers will run their horses when they are not fully fit or over inadequate distances during these 3 runs.
The handicapper can only assign a handicap mark based on the face value of the form, therefore the horse receives an official rating below its true ability.
The trainer can then carefully pick a race where the horse will be carrying a low weight against inferior rivals & win a good percentage of the time.
