Calvin Ayre Retires From Bodog
The popular and well known face of the BodogLife brand, Calvin Ayre, has decided to pack it in and retire after many successful years as the CEO and founder of the company. After starting the company with only $10,000, and building it into a multi million dollar enterprise, he finally decided he had enough, and is focusing his efforts into promoting his charitable organization, the Calvin Ayre Foundation.
The BodogLife brand is an online gambling company that operates a poker room, a sports betting site, a horse betting client, as well as one of the top online casinos in the business. One unique thing about their operation is that they accept wagers from USA players, and this actually got Calvin in a little bit of a pinch. Since it is illegal to run an online gambling operation from within the USA, he had to flee the country to avoid prosecution, and if he ever came back, the Feds would sure love to get their hands on him.
Besides his online gambling empire, Ayre has also been involved in a few other businesses, as well as a few other scandals. The Bodog brand was mostly sold last year to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group in Canada, but this recent move puts them in almost total control of the company. Their plans include turning Bodog Casino into one of the best online casinos, as well as expanding into the Latin America market.
