London for Theatre Lovers
Love theatre? Then London is the place to be. Here are seven of the city's most notable theatres. The Palladium. Today, the theatre hosts large, crowd-pleasing musicals and brings in big stars. Alumni include Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Judy Garland. The Old Vic. Its alumni include the great tragedian Edmund Kean, as well as Alec Guinness, Michael Redgrave, Judi Dench, and Laurence Olivier. The Globe. Shakespeare's original Globe theatre no longer exists; however, the current Globe was built according to Elizabethan specifications, and watching a play there is the closest we can get to theatre as it was seen in Shakespeare's time.
The Many Ways Of Getting Stuffed Animals In A Pinch
Concessionaires sometimes have limited space to haul their stuffed animals around. I am one of them. Because of this they often run out of supply during an event and have to get more. It is a tough task sometimes. I have found myself driving 600 miles round trip to and from a supply house on more than one occasion. A whole bunch of times their just isn't enough time to do this drive. On these occasions a person has to find other alternative ways to get stock for their games. One of the main ways is to go to another vendor and try to purchase teddy bears or whatever else they need from them. Many times this is a really hard task, after all the other vendor is also your competition.
Carnival Games Policies Are Now For The Weak Minded
The rules are changing and I don't really know why. The games are quickly becoming a clerk position and I don't know why. Seems as though they want everybody working the games to play it just like the sign says and I don't know why. Somebody please tell me soon. It doesn't matter to me though, I just want to know. There was a saying a long time ago that people still use today, to endure... to adapt... and this too shall pass. That saying is how I approach the ever changing carnival game regulations. Even though I have broke in working games as strong as I could, I haven't lost a step with each regulation implemented by fair commissions and Carnival show owners alike.
The Newark Museum and Jewelry in Their Collection
The Newark Museum is a quiet and genteel oasis in New Jersey's largest city. Newark, "The Brick City", is known for its grit, ports, very large and busy international airport, as well as having a prosperous manufacturing history including leather and the invention of patent leather. At one time Newark was the center of fine jewelry manufacturing, kin to Providence, Rhode Island, where costume jewelry manufacturing was the breadwinner for many families. In the midst of the city sits a stately brick building with a 19th century mansion, The Ballantine House, as its next door neighbor. Originally a residence, the Ballantine House is a part of the Newark Museum and offers a glimpse into the daily life of the late 19th century in a well-to-do-home.
Spice Girl Bruno Tonioli Make Shannon Elizabeth Cry Leaving Scars After Dancing with the Stars
This past Sunday night I was browsing the TV looking for something to watch, when I came upon the show Access Hollywood and a former Spice Girl singer leading the celebrity interviews. Upon interviewing the ladies participating in the new season of Dancing With The Stars, the Spice Girl (who's name I don't even know, although one could never forget her monstrous ego) conducting the interviews was very rough on the ladies. It was almost as if there was a streak of jealousy in the Spice diva as to the way she was critiquing each lady's performance. The only woman she to whom she was gracious was Priscilla Presley and that primarily due to her age.
5.5 Strategies for a Presentation with Magic
Everyone loves magic because it is fun and entertaining. But, the trick isn't the most important part of the presentation, the patter is. The patter is the script that you must use to keep your audience engaged while you perform your magic. If you can create a humorous story that will capture the attention of your audience and tie the tricks together at the same time; you will have a successful presentation. The real entertainment is in the story not the tricks. So, decide which tricks you enjoy and build a story around them that will entertain young and old. Here are 5 strategies for preparing your magic presentation.
Bronze Sculpture - From Molding to Finishing
Bronze has long played numerous roles in the many historical cultures of the past. From the Greek to the Chinese, there has always been a prominent place for bronze sculptures in a wide variety of inner cultural connections. All though several cultures before the Greek are known to have made many small display sculptures, archaeological discoveries have yielded that the Greek civilization was the first civilization to create the original life-size bronze sculptures as known to us today. When it comes to the full size bronze sculpture creation, the Lost Wax Method is the first to be acknowledged.
Guide to Collecting High End Netsuke
The Japanese art form of Netsuke is just as popular now as it was in the past. Today the value is for its contemporary value of a collectible but in the past was used as a toggle for carrying pouches, tucked into the sash or the obi of a kimono. Netsuke was originally a Japanese form of a decorative fastener or toggle for over 300 hundred years, as a carrying pocket clasp and at the same time, the silently but strong voice in speaking about the original everyday Japanese culture. Netsuke is as popular today as it was yesterday in historical times. There are those now contemporary artists and collectors making Netsuke more exciting, realistic, and vibrant than ever before.
Artists and Prostitutes - Soul Mates With Scars
It might arguably be one of the most recognizable paintings of all times-Picasso's "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon"-his 1907 transitional cubist painting of prostitutes remembered from his youth in Spain. It is not only one of the most well known, but was Picasso's most treasured. He did over 800 preliminary sketches in making the painting and kept it with him (literally under his bed) for life. But Picasso was not alone in capturing prostitutes in art. For almost any artistic depiction of a female nude that you see in the art museums of the world, the model was probably a prostitute. Yes, on rare occasions the model has been a bored society woman, a naïve tropical girl, an art student, a girlfriend or wife of the artist.
